Hello there!
03/07/2018
I am so grateful to have been named Massachusetts's 2018 Journalist of the Year! I credit this accolade to my incredible team at my high school newspaper, The Harbinger, and of course my adviser, Lindsay Coppens. I am currently studying Journalism at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. Feel free to scroll around on this site — I hope my portfolio can be a valuable resource for anyone applying for JOY!

When I stepped into Journalism class my freshman year - shocked and intimidated to see a room full of upperclassmen - I didn't know I would quickly fall in love with the pursuit of stories, the endless conversations, the adrenaline rush that comes with uncovering another layer of a narrative and the resulting tremors of my work. Since then, I've localized stories on gender inequality, redesigned my school newspaper and participated in summer journalism programs at the Boston Globe, Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University and Boston University. My work has been published in local publications (Worcester Magazine, MetroWest Daily News) and has garnered awards (including Scholastic Gold Key and NESPA recognition). But most importantly, journalism has given me the daily purpose of staying engaged with the world around me to tell the stories that need to be told.
